Based on the mid-nineteenth century Penny Rug technique, wool applique is a satisfying and decorative addition to your needlework repertoire! Felted wool is wonderful to stitch – soft and buttery to needle and the bold folk-art style designs are relaxing, even for night-time sewing.

Diane will share her many years of experience and plenty of tips to help you create an heirloom worthy 15” x 20” wall quilt.

A wonderful feature of folk-art designs is their versatility. While the size may vary, the basic design may be used in many forms: wool applique, punchneedle, needle felting or even rug hooking.

Be sure to check out a tiny version of this design done in punchneedle: Pumpkin and Crow Punchneedle (3” X 4”) on Sunday 10/22/17, 10:00 – 12:00.

Level of experience: Beginner
